INDConnect@SCSVMV 2013 – a three-day Industry Interaction Programme was held at Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya(SCSVMV University).
On the 11th, Mr. G. Balakrishnan, Senior President, India Cements, inaugurated the meet in the presence of Prof. Dr. V. S. Vishnu Pothy – Vice Chancellor of the University who delivered the presidential address. In his address, Mr. Balakrishnan outlined the responsibilities of students, and how they could take lessons in this regard from our own scriptures and texts. Other dignitaries who took part in the inaugural function included Mr. K. Jayaramakrishnan, CEO of Rajalakshmi Group and Mr. K.N. Visweswaran, Chief Mentor, Hexavarsity. Mr. L. Sivasankaran from NVIDIA spoke to the students about engineering services provided by NVIDIA, and the opportunities in that segment for engineers. Mr. K. Gurumurthy, HR from Zoho- a cloud-based service provider, addressed the Computer-specialized branches.
Day2 - 12th Sep. 2013 - Mr. Vishnu Vardhan from BSE Chennai and Mr. P R Sundar, Head Equity Research from Aditya Trading Solutions addressed the students about managing money. On the technical side, Mr. Shashikanth Jayaraman, HR of TVS & Sons. spoke to the Mechanical Engineering students about the opportunities in the industry. In a very interactive Q&A session at the end, he advised the students on do's and dont's towards becoming employable. Mr. Jayashankar, Vice President, Ultra Tech Cements addressed the Civil Engineering Students about the challenges and opportunities in the Civil Engineering Domain.
Day 3 commenced with a talk by Mr. Shyam Sundar, GM-HR of Brakes India Ltd.to the Mechanical Engineering Students. Dr. M. Sai Baba, Associate Director, Resources Management Group outlined the opportunities in the Atomic Energy Sector. A veteran in campus recruitments, Ms. Priyashri Anilkumar, Head, University Relations Programme, Honeywell India Pvt. Ltd., addressed the students on the campus recruitment process.
The 3-day industry connect programme - aimed to provide an orientation to the young engineers about the opportunities and expectations from Industry was organized by the training and placement division of SCSVMV University.
