The University actively promotes Research & Development in all its
departments, under The Director, Research & Publications. PhD programmes are offered in all the departments of the University.
The Department of Sanskrit and Indian Culture alone has produced more than 25 doctoral degrees. A large number of researchers
are pursuing their doctoral research programmes through various departments.
Research Colloquium held on 22nd March’2013
Admission to Ph.D programme in All Branches of Engineering, Sanskrit, English, Management, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science & Applications, Education, Hindi, Ayurveda are made twice a year. Candidates can apply throughout the year and they can download the application. Candidates are requested to completely read the Ph.D regulations before filling up the application. Filled-in Applications along with a Demand Draft for Rs.1000/= (for SC/ST Rs.500/= Only) and for Sanskrit scholars Rs.500/- drawn in any Nationalized Bank payable at Kancheepuram , in favour of The Registrar, SCSVMV University should be sent to The Director of Research and Publications.
The Application along with DD may be sent to “Director of Research” to process the application for January or July session as the case may be.
The Last Date for January session : 30th November
The Last Date for July session : 31st May
The received application will be processed and the candidates will be called for the respective admission session.
| All the Ph.D research guides have to send a panel of experts (six members with contact details) for each research scholar who have been admitted during July 2012 under their supervision. From the panel of experts Suggested by the guide, one expert will be selected for a particular scholar and the selected expert have to attend three doctoral committee meetings to be conducted in the departments of this university. |
| First doctoral committee meeting: To confirm the syllabus for the scholar before completion of one year so as to advise the scholar to take up methodology examinations. |
| Second doctoral committee meeting: After successful completion of the methodology examinations by the scholar and to confirm the title of the research. |
| Third doctoral committee meeting: At the time of synopsis presentation by the scholar. |
| The guides have to contact the respective Deans of this university and to conduct the Doctoral Committee meetings for each scholar. |
| This is applicable only for the scholars who have been admitted in the year July 2012 and for future admissions. |

| 1. Scholars should pay the their yearly tuition fees
regularly.
2. Scholars should send their respective six months progress reports signed by their guide and signed by the respective faculty Deans of this university. 3. Guides are requested to send annual report of each scholar. 4. Non payment of tuition fees and non / late submission of progress reports will not be entertained. |
