“National Science Day” celebration was organized by the Department of Science and Humanities of Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyala University on 24-02-2010.
       Professor Dr. A. Jayalakshmi, Registrar, SCSVMV inaugurated and presided over the function. Dr. S. Balaji, Reader in Chemistry welcomed the gathering. Dr. (Mrs) Ganga Radhakrishnan, Honorary Director, Centre for Cooperation in Science and Technology among Developing Societies & Emeritus Scientist, Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai delivered the keynote address on “Polymers – A Compulsory Choice of The Millenium”, released the science magazine “Vision of Science – 2010” and distributed the prizes to the student winners of the various events like paper presentation, science quiz, essay writing and painting. Prof. Dr. G. Rangarajan, Professor Retd., Dept. of Physics, IIT, Chennai, delivered the National Science Day Lecture on “Milestones in Physics”. Prof. Dr. A. Ravi, Dean (Academics), SCSVMV felicitated. Dr. T. Venugopal, Reader in Mathematics gave vote of thanks. Dr. K. Sivakumar, Convenor of the National Science Day - 2010 celebration organized the function.
