Prof. Dr. C.V. VAIDYANATHAN

           
         Prof. Dr.C.V.VAIDYANATHAN is son of Late Dr.C.S.Venkateswaran, Prof. & Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Annamalai University. He obtained his B.E., in civil engineering from Annamalai University in 1968 and later took his M.Sc., (Structural Engineering) and Ph.D from the same university. He had his early training at Loughborough, UK and at the university of Missouri, Columbia, USA and under a UN fellowship. He is an eminent engineer and accomplished professional and served the CSIR system at the Structural Engineering Research Centre, Madras for over three decades and retired as Director Grade Scientist and Advisor (Management). He is the recipient of the merit Professor award from the University of Missouri, USA and the prestigious CSIR Technology Prize for software development. He served as UN expert on Structured Analysis and Design for the UN Project at DPR, Korea. He also visited Jordan and Japan to promote the bilateral co-operation in R&D. Till recently, he has been serving as Professor and Dean of the Civil Engineering Department at Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology  at Chennai. He has published three books and many research papers in the national and international journals. He has guided many students for their Post Graduate degree and conducted many advanced training programmes for the Professionals, practicing engineers and the academics. His areas of specialization include Advanced Structured Analysis, Structural Dynamics and Machine foundations, Computer Aided Design, Earthquake resistant design of structures and risk analysis.
