Archaeological inscriptions at Kanchipuram point to the existence of
Ghatikasthanam a centre for advanced learning in Kanchi. Today several

medicine, in and around Kanchi.
Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya(SCSVMV University),
Enathur, about 4 km from Kanchipuram, offers a host of courses spanning the
entire spectrum, from the traditional Sanskrit subjects to modern Engineering
courses, One of Asias biggest international libraries is located on the
University campus, which also houses a unique treasure-trove of palm-leaf
