‘HINDI DAY’ - REPORT
With the benign blessings of His Holiness Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal, and His Holiness Sri Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal, the Department of Hindi of SCSVMV University, has organized a guest Lecture in connection with ‘HINDI DAY’ on 13th September 2012 at ADI SHANKARA AUDITORIUM at International Library premises of the university.
Prof. C.V. Vaidyanathan, Vice-chancellor, SCSVMV presided over the function. An eminent Writer in Hindi and Formerly Head, Department of Hindi, Stella Marris (Autonomous) College, Chennai, Dr. Madhu Dhawan graced the occasion as the chief guest of the function. Prof. Dr. Vishnu Potty, Dean Sanskrit and Languages welcomed the gathering. Chief Guest Dr. Madhu Dhawan highlighted the significance of working knowledge in Hindi to the present day. Prof. Narayan Jee Jha, Prof. of Sanskrit Department gave a enlightening lecture in which valuable information to the students regarding choosing Hindi as career was highlighted. Brahmashri V.V.S.S. Sharma from Shankara Mutt graced the occasion and addressed the gathering. He spoke about the Bhakti Sahitya of Hindi Literature. Prof. K.C. Srinivas, Dean Engineering has thrown light on the benefits of learning Hindi as a linking language. Dr. D. Nageswara Rao, Assistant Professor in Hindi and the coordinator of the function proposed vote of thanks.
All the Deans, students and staff members of the Department of Sanskrit & Indian Culture and other Departments were present on this occasion. As a whole, Hindi day celebration – 2012 ended successfully with joy and happiness.
